Sharecropping is being a tenant on a landowner's property, and the landowner dictates what to grow and how to grow it. They also receive the majority of your income. It is unfair because it just creates an unofficial system of indentured servitude.

Describe the differences between Thomas Hobbes and John Locke.
Hobbes believes that people are inherently evil and selfish, where as Locke believes that everyone is born with a tabula rasa (clean slate) and that they are inherently good. Hobbes believes that the social contract should not be broken by any means, even if the government is abusing your natural rights. Locke believes that if government is violating your natural rights, then the individual has every right to break the social contract and rebel.

What are the Alien and Sedition Acts? What was their aim?
These acts increased the residency requirement for American citizenship from five to fourteen years, authorized the president to imprison or deport aliens considered "dangerous to the peace and safety of the United States" and restricted speech critical of the government. These laws were designed to silence and weaken the Democratic-Republican Party.
