Describe the differences between Thomas Hobbes and John Locke.
Hobbes believes that people are inherently evil and selfish, where as Locke believes that everyone is born with a tabula rasa (clean slate) and that they are inherently good. Hobbes believes that the social contract should not be broken by any means, even if the government is abusing your natural rights. Locke believes that if government is violating your natural rights, then the individual has every right to break the social contract and rebel.
