Formal reports from: evaluation findings, unit feedback, combat training centers (CTC), COE threat managers, Center for Army Lessons Learned (CALL), T2COM long-range plans, new capabilities, warfighting concepts and experiments, training and education strategies, advanced concept technology demonstrations, capability documents provided by the capabilities development and integration directorates, and directed training (common core and shared training requirements).

What are needs analysis triggering circumstances?

100

This aspect of analysis informs the nomination of individual tasks for consideration and designation as an individual critical task, placement on the ICTL, and subsequent learning product development or maintenance.

What is mission analysis for learning product development?

100

Total Task Inventory (TTI), field survey data, individual task performance data, supporting knowledge, skills, and attitudes.

What are the outputs of job analysis?

100

This team made up of individual experts with the right combination of skills and knowledge identifies training solutions, as well as non-training solutions in the doctrine, organization, materiel, leadership and education, personnel, facilities, and policy areas of the DOTMLPF-P.

What is the needs analysis team?

100

Determines the action, condition, and standard for each individual task. It breaks down a task into performance steps, and identifies the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to perform the task. Provides the basis for (a) translating job performance information into learning objectives, and (b) designing and developing lessons and courses.

What is individual task analysis?

200

Identifies gaps between current and required Army capabilities or performance. Performance deficiencies may be in any area of DOTMLPF-P; there may be a training and/or education solution, a combined solution, or no training/education solution.

What is needs analysis?

200

Conducted in response to a needs analysis or a change of a unit’s mission, capabilities, tasks, performance requirements, equipment, and/or personnel. It is a process to review mission requirements and develop a unit task list (UTL). This process identifies unit, organizational, and functional structure; stated and implied missions; and collective and individual tasks.

What is mission analysis?

200

Aligns collective tasks with Army universal task list (AUTL) tasks and universal joint task list (UJTL) tasks and identifies the mission essential tasks (METs) needed for units to perform their missions.

What is doctrine analysis?

200

Provides results in terms of doctrinal deficiencies in the proponent missions and/or tasks in order to conduct collective task analysis. Looks beyond what the existing unit is required to accomplish, and looks at documents reflecting current and planned changes to the doctrine, equipment, or manning of the type unit.

What is the mission analysis team?

200

Compares the desired educational outcome with the learner’s pre-instruction foundational knowledge.

What is GAP analysis?

300

These domains are the Army Learning Triggering Circumstances. Changes to doctrine, organization, training, material, leadership & education, personnel, facilities, and policy may require new and/or revised training and education strategies.

What is DOTMLPF-P?

300

The output of a mission analysis. Identifies those collective tasks required for mission accomplishment.

What is the unit task list (UTL)?

300

The direct result of a mission analysis and an approved unit task list (UTL), conducted when the mission analysis process identifies gaps in unit training. The mission analysis team provides results in terms of doctrinal deficiencies in the proponent missions and/or tasks in order to conduct collective task analysis.

What is collective task analysis?

300

This team is comprised of the training development manager, training developer, SME, Commander/commandant, and evaluator. This team identifies valid individual critical tasks for a specific job or identifies a group of critical tasks, such as for an entire MOS/AOC.

What is the job analysis team?

300

Identifies and lists resource requirements (and constraints) in the areas of equipment, facilities, funds, personnel, and time.

What is resource analysis?

400

(1) Training and education solutions or improvements, as applicable.

(2) Recommendations for non-training solutions, as applicable.

(3) Learning product development requirements.

What is the output of needs analysis?

400

The individual who uses the UTL and job analysis information to identify individual tasks that are critical to accomplishing a collective task.

Who is the training developer?

400

Identifies the individual critical tasks (including leader tasks and staff functions) and the associated skills, knowledge, duties, responsibilities, education, experience required for the job (skill levels), as well as the criticality of the tasks for jobholders to accomplish the mission and duties of a specific military occupational specialty (MOS)/area of concentration (AOC) or function.

What is job analysis?

400

Reviews the total task inventory (TTI), field survey data, and job performance data; recommends tasks for approval, revision, or deletion; assigns a criticality rating to each task; and recommends an initial training location. Recommends additions, changes, and deletions to the TTI. Determines the critical tasks for their MOS/AOC based upon their expertise and the job analysis survey data.

What is the Critical Task and Site Selection Board (CTSSB)

400

Uses the following elements to inform curriculum design, development, and implementation: job history, skill and knowledge level, reading grade level, previous training received, math skill level, Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) scores required for the job, civilian education level, time in grade/service, time in duty position, workplace conditions, demographics, computer literacy level, maturity, motivation to learn, interests, and attitudes.

What is target audience analysis?

500

DAILY DOUBLE!!! This process begins when a needs analysis identifies a performance gap or deficiency due to a lack of knowledge, skills or attitudes, where training, education, or a combined solution will meet the identified need.

What is the ADDIE process?

500

DAILY DOUBLE!!! It supports the unit's mission essential task list (METL) by integrating learners into a team that builds on the individual skills learned in institutions.

What is the operational domain?

500

DAILY DOUBLE!!! The output of the Critical Task and Site Selection Board (CTSSB)

What is the Individual Critical Task List (ICTL)?

500

DAILY DOUBLE!!! Led by the Transformation Lessons Learned Manager (TLLM), these MEDCoE teams unite capability developers to identify operational gaps and recommend DOTmLPF-P solutions. To execute this process, ICDTs utilize Integrated Process Action Teams (IPATs) - multidisciplinary groups of subject matter experts - to conduct Capability Gap and Based Assessments (CGAs/CBAs). IPATs produce critical modernization deliverables, including DOTMLPF Change Recommendations (DICRs), Force Design Updates (FDUs), and Initial Capabilities Documents (ICDs).

What are the Integrated Capability Development Teams (ICDT)?

500

DAILY DOUBLE!!! Identifies specific performance or action statements from broadlystated course outcomes. Determines the domains of knowledge, and a list of subjects the learner must learn. These performance or action statements are broken down into knowledge, skill, and attitude components and translated into learning objectives which form the basis for the design and development of lessons within a course.

What is goal analysis?
