What is the organ system level?

What is the muscular system?
Describes the body's ability to maintain relatively stable internal conditions even though the outside world is continuously changing.
What is homeostasis?
The control center of the cell.
What is the nucleus?
Covers the body's surface, lines body cavities, and forms protective sheets around organs.
What are body membranes?
Composed of two or more tissue types that performs a specific function for the body.
What is an organ?
Without me, oxygen can not be delivered to cells, leading to cell death.
What is the cardiovascular system?
The production of offspring.
What is reproduction?
The powerhouse of the cell.
What is the mitochondria?
Superficial epidermis is composed of keratinized stratified squamous epithelium
What is the cutaneous membrane?
The chemical level consist of two components.
What are atoms and molecules?
Without me, your brain would be mush. It wouldn't know anything that was going on in the outside world and wouldn't be able to control our body.
What is the nervous system?
The ability to sense changes (stimuli) in the environment and then to react to them.
What is responsiveness?
The site of protein synthesis.
What are ribosomes?
There are two major groups of body membranes.
What are epithelial and connective tissue membranes?
The smallest unit of all living things.
What are cells?
Without me, your body would not know when to start puberty.
What is the endocrine system?
This homeostatic control mechanism is rare in the body because they tend to increase the original disturbance and to push the variable farther from its original value.
What are positive feedback mechanisms?
This modifies and packages proteins.
What is the Golgi apparatus?
Lines all body cavities that open to the exterior of body surface.
What is the mucous membrane?
This is the sixth level of structural organization.
What is the organismal level?
Without me, you would not be able to drain the excess fluid from the body, causing our tissues to swell and our cells to drown.
What is the lymphatic system?
A broad term that refers to all chemical reactions that occur within body cells.
What is metabolism?
The cellular material outside the nucleus and inside the plasma membrane.
What is cytoplasm?
The outer layer of the skin.
