The Delian League resulted in war and population decrease because Sparta got mad a Pericles for taking all the money from the Delian League to rebuild Athens, so Sparta started a league of their on. This ended up in war. Then, as if enough people weren't dead, Pericles decided to stuff everyone inside the Athen walls. Eventually most people got sick and died, including Pericles. 1/3 of the population had died.
