Explain the two type of plays used in ancient Greece. (Make sure to explain the famous play of Antigone)

Tragedies: serious plays in which the main characters come to an unhappy end. Antigone was the play of a young women who had to face a terrible choice. If she chose to do the right thing, she will break an unfair law. The punishment for breaking the law was death. Antigone chooses to do the right thing and accepts he consequences.

Comedy: is a humorous play and they often poke fun at people and ideas. Serious statements about political and social life were shown through the plays.
