Zeus was asked to choose "the fairest of them all" and had to choose between Athena, Hera, and Aphrodite. He did not want to choose, so he made Paris (the son of the king of Troy) choose. He chose Aphrodite, who promised to give him the most beautiful woman in the world: Helen. Helen was the wife of the king of Sparta. So when Paris stole Helen, the war began between the Greeks and the Trojans.
