Name one difference between Hinduism and Islam?

Hindus worshipped many different gods, while the Muslims had only one - Allah. Muslims believed that all people were equal before Allah, but Hindus lived by the caste system. Hindus believed cows were sacred, but Muslims ate cows; Muslims thought pork was unclean, but some non-vegetarian Hindus ate pork. You can see the beliefs of each were repugnant to the other!

Name a difference between Western and Indian Music?

Indian music is made up of many different microtones, which are sounds in between the notes we use in Western music. In Western music there are major scales and minor scales, and the notes are the same when going both up and down the scale. However, in Indian music there can be one set of notes going up and a different set coming down. There must be at least five different tones, and no more than seven. There are different ragas for each time of day and different ragas for each season. While Western music usually portrays a range of emotions, a raga focuses just on one, elaborating on it in great detail.

Buddhist texts describe Ashoka walking around the battle field once the war was over and being overwhelmed by all of the dead bodies and blood. It was at that point that Ashoka converted to Buddhism and in 260 BCE he made Buddhism the state religion. Ashoka is credited for the spread of Buddhism worldwide. He even made laws that reflected ancient Hindu and Buddhist ideals of non-violence and compassion.
