The Epic of Gilgamesh

Summary: The Epic of Gilgamesh is an ancient Mesopotamian story about Gilgamesh, the king of Uruk, who is known for being strong but selfish. After becoming friends with Enkidu, the two go on exciting adventures and defeat dangerous enemies together. When Enkidu dies, Gilgamesh becomes very sad and begins a journey to find the secret of living forever. Along the way, he learns that no person can escape death and that everyone must eventually die. In the end, Gilgamesh returns home wiser and realizes that the best way to be remembered is through the good things he does for his people.
