Before Testing

At this point in the morning, you should go over the student-facing slides for Part 2 of the assessment.

Besides their thinking jobs and checklists, students should have this on their scratch paper when you collect it.

Besides the test / timing information, these visuals should also be up during the ANet.
What is:
- fiction thinking job
- nonfiction thinking job
You should say something like this if a student is answering questions 5 minutes after the test starts.
What is:
- "You need to finish reading and jotting a thinking job before you answer any questions."
- "Can you show me / highlight in the text where you found that answer?"
You should do this with students' scratch paper after you collect it.

- bring it to the CTM
Name two things you should do to prepare for the ANet before students arrive to school on Wednesday.
What is:
- Take the ANet 3.
- Hard shutdown the computers.
- Put your desks in your CAPE arrangement.
You should say something like this if a student is still writing their thinking job after 15 minutes.
What is: "It’s time to stop jotting and start answering the multiple choice questions if you haven’t already."
You read the script to guide students through submitting their test. Before they exit ANet, you should check their screen for this.
What is:
- ANet 3 has disappeared from their "My Assignments" page.
These five things need to be on desks before students start the test.

- blank paper

You should say something like this if a student is on track to write a whole page for one thinking job (or a writing checklist).
What is: "You’re writing a little too much on your scratch paper. Remember, these are quick jots to help you remember your big ideas."
Once computers are closed, you should do this with your students.
