Old Testament

Long after this prophet died, he returned to earth as an angel called Gabriel, to announce the birth of Jesus Christ.  (Genesis 6:8; Bible Dictionary: Gabriel)

Noah

Michael is the chief angel of God, and fought for Jesus Christ in the preexistence and after he died, and will have a big part in the second coming of Jesus.  He was known by this name while he was alive on earth.  (Bible Dictionary: Michael) 

Adam

This prophet had a vision of a ladder, or stairway, with angels going up and down from heaven to earth.  (Genesis 28:10-12)

Jacob

New Testament

This is the name of the angel who appeared to Mary (to call her to be the mother of Jesus) and Zacharias (to tell him that his wife Elisabeth was going to give birth to John the Baptist).  (Luke 1:19; Luke 1:26-27)  

Gabriel

Moses and Elijah appeared to Jesus and these three apostles to give them Priesthood keys so they could establish the Church of Jesus Christ 2000 years ago.  (Matthew 17:1-3)

Peter, James, and John

This prophet saw an angel coming from heaven to preach the everlasting gospel of Jesus Christ to people on earth.  Some people have thought this could be talking about Moroni.  (Revelation 14:6)

Book of Mormon
