They were groups that contained ten families. Enforced laws. Hundreds were another part of local law. Included ten Tithings. Had a constable who was voted for by the people. Shires and countries were groups of hundred. There was one sheriff who was the leader of the shire.

Anglo-Saxons did not handle disputes and violence kindly always. If a person was suspected of being guilty, then they would have to go through a whole process to prove their innocence. This was a long and painful process. A person who was guilty could also be killed, mutated, or worse. There was also their legal system in some clans. This could an include a court, in which they would have an earl, as well as other leaders in the court, who were people that were selected by the king.
