Without Man, the farm begins to thrive. Animalism and the seven commandments are created; the farm name is changed to Animal Farm. The pigs educate themselves, but they find it difficult to teach the other “lower” animals how to read. Due to their lack of knowledge the “lower” animals are easily taken advantage of. Napoleon and Snowball engage in a struggle for power.
How do the pigs use propaganda to influence the animals on Animal Farm?
There are many ways the pigs use propaganda to influence the other animals. They sing "Beasts of England", they create slogans like "Four legs good, two legs bad", They use loaded words and bandwagon appeal to explain to them why the commandments have been changed, just to name a few.
This occurs when the outcome of an event is the opposite of what is expected, creating a contrast between expectation and reality.

Animal Farm is ironic in many ways. An important way that the story is ironic is that in the end of the story the pigs end up doing exactly what Jones once did. They behave and even look the same way Jones did.
