Momentarily clamp the chest tube close to the chest drain and observe the water-seal chamber. If the bubbling stops, the air leak may be from the catheter connections or the patient's chest. If bubbling continues after temporarily clamping the patient's tube, there's a system leak, which requires system replacement.
