You need to say שמע in a volume you can hear

100

The גמ. ברכות teaches that שמע doesn't just mean "hear", but also...

You must say שמע in any language you "hear"... meaning any language you understand

100

How does the גמ. ברכות learn that you need כוונה to say שמע?

A גזירה שווה, equal law, from פרשת כי תבוא...

Just like over there the תורה says הסכת ושמע ישראל, pay attention and listen Israel, every time you say שמע, you need to pay attention

אונס

Page 3, something beyond your control, like throat surgery or a dirty diaper

All the פרשיות, and the ברכות

Is saying שמע out loud a דאורייתא obligation?

Or דרבנן?...

It's a מחלוקת, argument, between the ראב״ד and ב״ח...

The ראב״ד learns that it's a דאורייתא because of our פסוק... the word שמע teaches to say the words in a volume you can hear

400

According to the באור הלכה, it's preferable to daven in לשון הקדש...

If you daven in another language, the people of that place must speak that language... Why?

Only לשון הקדש is a real language...

Every other language is "made-up" through the local people's agreement that "chair" means something you sit on...

We פסקין that הרהור לאו כדבור דמי... but if you have an אונס, say שמע in your heart, and ה׳ gives you the שכר, reward

If the אונס goes away, and there's still time for the מצוה, you need to do it again!

500

Where does the באור הלכה learn his הלכה about your place affecting the language?

From the גמ. קדושין ו that חרופה  means "wife" only in יהודה... everywhere else it means slave

So the marriage only works in יהודה

They agree you need כוונה...

But if we can tell from your actions you wanted to fulfill the מצוה, then you're technically יוצא, even if you actually forgot to have in mind to fulfill the מצוה

The only reason you're  bentching is because you want to fulfill your מצוה to bentch! So even if you forget to think "I want to fulfill the מצוה", you're all right!
