“What impact does the Civil Service Exam have on the social culture of Song Dynasty China”(who did this impact the most)?
The Civil Service Exam impacted the social culture from Song Dynasty onwards by social mobility. Even the poorest people who previously had little affect on their country could become a member of the ruling class by acquiring an education and passing the examinations. This was big for the poor and bad for the rich because now they had to prove themselves and their knowledge instead of just inheriting their position. They ended up making a moving print system to ensure that it was fair for everyone. This allowed everyone to actually be able and read the exam which is why it had such a positive impact on the poor.
Describe the difference in how commodities were exchanged along the Silk Road and Indian Ocean trade routes.
Commodities along the Silk road were exchanged by riding on camels or horses or occasionally travelling by foot. Commodities along the Indian Ocean trade routes were exchanged by using triangle-sailed dhows to harness the seasonal monsoon winds. Caravans were groups of traveling merchants on camels throughout the Silk Road and were typically used throughout the desert portion due to the extreme heat and the camels ability to walk long distances without water. In the Indian Ocean lateen sails were used on dhows. Lateen sails made vessels more maneuverable than square-rigged vessels and so the boats would rise better towards the wind. These unique forms of transportation helped aid trade throughout the world.

Someone serving as an indentured servant was not paid wages but were taken care of with housing, clothing, and food. Even though indentured servants may have been treated better they still were not treated and well and this is why they rebelled with the slaves.
