The act of appealing to the logic of the audience or readers. The speaker focuses on how REASONABLE the argument or message is.

The main idea the speaker communicated to the audience in order to achieve the purpose.
Message
The setting or situation, describes the circumstances of the text, such as when it was written, the context, and/or place.
Occasion
When a speaker or writer appeals to their authority as a means of persuasion.
Ethos
This ancient Greek philosopher is credited with creating the concept of the rhetorical triangle.
Aristotle
The effect that the speaker intended to have on the audience (e.g., changing beliefs or behaviors, evoking an emotion, informing, etc.).
Purpose
In rhetoric, this is an issue, problem, or situation that causes or prompts someone to write or speak.
Exigence
The act of evoking emotions in the audience or readers in order to persuade.
Pathos
The country that Malala Yousafzai is originally from.
