Success of the American revolution inspired the French Revolution. French revolution inspired Haitian revolution, but independence/abolition movement was led by slaves. Due to success of Haitian revolution, Napoleon/France gave up on American presence and sold the Louisiana territory to the US.

Governed by the Mughal empire until BEIC began to gain political power in the 1800s. BEIC charter was revoked in 1857 (Sepoy Rebellion), India then became a royal colony. Britain granted Indian independence in 1947 (created Pakistan as a nation for the Muslim population)
