Three differences between Islam and Hinduism are the type of social structures included in their religion and the ammount of gods they worship or believe in. Islam is a monotheistic religion that priases one god, Allah; whereas Hinduism is a polytheistic religion in which its followers praise many different gods. Islam promotes a very flexible social system in which members are encouraged to move up or down through different "levels." In comparison, Hinduism follows a very strict social system where it is absolutely impossible to move between different levels. This is known as the caste system and when one is born into a certain caste they stay there until their next life.

WHAT TWO FACTORS LED THE MONGOLS TO CLAIM LAND FROM POLAND TO THE FAR EAST COAST OF CHINA?

Two factors that led the Mongols to claim land from Poland and to the far east coast of China are their military strategies and adaptation of local talents. The Mongols were very advanced and far ahead of their time in their military strategies. Not only did they use horses and archers, warriors of the Mongol army were trained to fight from a young age. This allowed them to capture towns quickly and effectively. In addition, when the Mongols captured a town that surrendered without much resistance, they treated its citizens with much mercy. Specifically, artisans, craft-workers, and those with battle skills were taken in and treated with much generosity. The Mongols took advantage of those with battle skills and learned new talents from them.

WHAT ARE THE KEY CHARACTERISTICS OF INDENTURED SERVITUDE?

The key characteristics of indentured servitude are 7-year contracts, harsh conditions, and being hard to escape. Indentured servitude is a labor system in which one agrees to work without a salary and eventually in exchange for land. These agreements were written up on 7-year contracts in which the laborer must work on the other's land for seven years, but once this contract is over the laborer is free to leave. Indentured servitude often had harsh conditions due to excessive poverty and disease in Europe, where indentured servitude originated from. Although it is implied that one may leave indentured servitude after the agreed ammount of time, the laborer almost never did. During their time, the worker is charged for tools and supplies they may need to work and when they have completed the contract they often do not have enough money. The once free worker may agree to work for that person again to work off the charges for supplies; this often results in a never ending loop of working and trying to pay off expenses.

WHAT ARE TWO SIMILARITIES BETWEEN THE AMERICAN AND FRENCH REVOLUTION?

Two similarities between the American and French Revolutions are what provoked the start of the revolutions and why the countries decided to revolt. Both the American and French Revolution were sparked by Enlightenment thinkers. Specifically, people like Rousseau, Voltaire, and Montesquieu argued for how a government should function; ideas provided by these icons became very popular among citizens of both France and America and prompted people to question how their government was being run. The French and American Revolution both generally ocurred because of unfair treatment by the government. In America, citizens were being heavily taxed for everyday items by the King of England. This unfair treatment by their ruling government resulted in America revolting against Great Britain and becoming their own country. Similarly, members of the lower class in France were extremely upset with how heavily they were being taxed. Their government, primarily run by King Louis XVI and Marie Antionette, was run with much ignorance towards the suffering of the peasant class. This caused the lower class to revolt against the aristocracy and government.
