The status of women under Islam was different from the status of women in China because the women of Islam had more freedom. The women of Islam could retain ownership of property after marriage, could remarry and could even initiate the divorce. However, the Chinese women had much less in the way of rights, meaning their status differed. Women of Islam had more rights and more freedom than women from China.

Gunpowder Empires rose to power during the period from 1450-1750 due to the fact that gunpowder was just becoming an accessible item. Gunpowder was being made and transported and the Gunpowder Empires were using it to take power. With the creation of gunpowder came the use of firearms, which the Gunpowder Empires were known for using. That is what made them the "Gunpowder Empires". With accessible gunpowder for their firearms, the Gunpowder Empires had power over other regions and could then rise to power of those regions.
Explain ONE economic motivation for understanding wind patterns.
One economic motivation for understanding wind patterns would be increased access to trade and trading ports that may offer more profit. If one country can understand the wind patterns, they can then use those to further adjust their trade routes to make the most of the time, so they may trade for longer and in doing so, gain extra profit that couldn't be gotten if they do not understand the wind patterns.

In both America and in Britain, the Enlightment thinkers were searching for a civil and non-violent way to put out their ideas and they did this through writing. All these thinkers wrote books. Baron Montesquieu wrote "The Spirit of Laws", Voltaire wrote "Candide", Adam Smith wrote "The Wealth of Nations", and Thomas Paine wrote "Common Sense" and "The Age of Reason". These thinkers were also writers who put their ideas onto paper and put them out to the public for all to read and for their ideas to grow and spread.
