When Sister Reyna Aburto was 9, her older brother died in an earthquake. The Spirit guided her to think of her brother in this certain way that brought her comfort.

I would imagine him knocking on our door. I would open the door, he would be standing there, and he would tell me, “I am not dead. I am alive. I could not come to you, but now I will stay with you and never leave again.” That imagining, almost a dream, helped me cope with the pain that I felt over losing him. The thought that he would be with me came to my mind over and over.

My dear brothers and sisters, my call to you this Easter morning is to start today to increase your faith. Through your faith, Jesus Christ will increase your ability to move the mountains in your life, even though your personal challenges may loom as large as Mount Everest.

Your mountains may be loneliness, doubt, illness, or other personal problems. Your mountains will vary, and yet the answer to each of your challenges is to increase your faith. That takes work. Lazy learners and lax disciples will always struggle to muster even a particle of faith.

President Eyring told about a handsome young man that resisted becoming worthy to live with God in families forever. In a belligerent way he told of the good times he had with his friends. Then he told about a moment during one of his parties, in the midst of the raucous noise, when he suddenly realized that he felt lonely. The young man had this memory in that moment.

Elder Thierry K. Mutombo told the story of a family in the DR of the Congo that was threatened during a time of conflict in the country.  Tell the story.


A group of the militiamen came to their home and then pulled them out and told them to choose to adhere to their militia practices or be killed.

Brother Mulumba courageously told them, “I’m a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My family and I have accepted Jesus Christ and have faith in Him. We will remain faithful to our covenants and will accept to die.”

They told them, “As you have chosen Jesus Christ, your bodies will be eaten by the dogs,” and they promised to come back. But they never did come back,

Elder Gary Stevenson told the story of a 1970s experiment to examine the effects of diet on heart health. Over several months, they fed a control group of rabbits a high-fat diet and monitored their blood pressure, heart rate, and cholesterol. Tell the story of the unexpected discovery of this experiment.


They discovered that every rabbit with fewer fatty deposits had been under the care of one researcher, when she fed the rabbits, “she talked to them, cuddled and petted them. She did more than simply give the rabbits food. She gave them love!
