Explain ONE reason that the Mughal leaders constructed impressive buildings for worship and as memorials during the period of 1450 - 1750.

They built these buildings as memorials because of the spread of Islam to India during the Mughal's reign. In an old Indian funeral, the dead body would be burned and their ashes would be thrown into the Indus River. But since there was a spread of Islam, the funerals were different back in those days. A traditional old Muslim funeral would be the dead body would be buried in a lavish coffin. An example of this is the Taj Mahal. This was the burial site for the wife of Shah Jahan, who was the Muslim ruler of the Mughal empire. Since his wife, who was also Muslim, was high up in the ranks, he had a massive structure placed for her, called the Taj Mahal.

Explain ONE way in which European practices affected the environment in the Americas in the period 1450 - 1750.

European agricultural practices in the Americas would often affect the physical environment through deforestation and soil depletion. In Brazil, when the Europeans arrived, over 20% of the Amazon Rain Forest was cut down to farm new cash crops. This severely hurt the Amazon Basin's ecosystem to this day. Soil depletion affected the environment in the Americas because the Europeans would only plant one crop and not rotate it. Over time, this would make the soil unfertile and not farmable. If the Europeans cycled crops, they could've kept the soil more fertile.
