Jim was grumpy. He did not want to go to church because it was early and he wanted to sleep in.  He did not want to show up early to prepare to bless the sacrament, even though that was his responsibility as a Priest this week.  He also did not want to take the sacrament to the home bound members after church.  He had a nap waiting for him.  He found Isaiah confusing, so he was not excited about studying Isaiah in Sunday School. When his ministering companion told him he had set up visits for later that afternoon, and could Jim get a message ready from President Oaks to share, Jim sighed.  The last straw was having to attend Mission Prep class that evening.  Jim nearly died.   What DM could help Jim get some much needed perspective on the latter-day work, the gospel, and the gift it is?

Isaiah 29:13-14

It can be hard to recognize deceptive ideas and actions, particularly when we may be influenced by them.  Satan often tries to manipulate how we view important ideas such as doctrine on marriage and family, the Word of Wisdom, and the law of chastity.  Isaiah repeatedly emphasized the danger of not recognizing deception in their day and ours.  He used what word in our DM scripture to describe the misery we will feel if we follow Satan's lies?

Woe
