One sunny morning, a little blue balloon named Benny woke up at the fair.

"Good morning!" said Benny as he bounced gently in the breeze.

Benny loved looking at all the happy children, but he had one wish.

"I wish I had a friend to play with," he said.

Just then, a tiny yellow bird landed nearby.

"Hello! I'm Sunny," chirped the bird. "Why do you look sad?"

"I want a friend," said Benny.

Sunny smiled. "I'll be your friend!"

The two friends spent the day together. They watched the carousel spin, listened to music, and played hide-and-seek.

Soon, a gust of wind lifted Benny into the air.

"Oh no!" cried Benny. "I'm floating away!"

Sunny flapped her wings as fast as she could.

"Don't worry! I'll help you!"

The little bird guided Benny toward a tall tree. Benny's string gently caught on a branch, and he stopped floating away.

A kind child saw Benny and carefully brought him back down.

"Thank you!" said Benny to Sunny.

"That's what friends are for," said Sunny.

As the sun began to set, Benny smiled.

He had started the day wishing for a friend.

Now he had the best friend of all.

Max was in first grade. He loved to draw.

One morning, Max opened his crayon box.

"Oh no!" he said. "My red crayon is gone!"

Max looked under his desk.

He looked in his backpack.

He looked in his cubby.

But the red crayon was nowhere to be found.

"I can't finish my picture without red," Max said.

His friend Mia heard him.

"I can help you look," she said.

The two friends searched the classroom.

Then Mia pointed to the reading rug.

"What's that?" she asked.

There was a little red crayon hiding under a book.

"My red crayon!" Max cheered.

Max picked it up and smiled.

"Thank you for helping me," he said.

"You're welcome," said Mia.

Max finished his picture. It had a bright red fire truck and a big red balloon.

When the teacher saw it, she smiled.

"Great job, Max!"

Max smiled, too.

He learned that finding things is easier when friends help.

Lily woke up excited for a trip to the park. She wanted to ride her bike, play on the swings, and have a picnic with her family.

But when she looked out the window, dark clouds filled the sky.

Then it started to rain.

"Oh, no!" Lily groaned. "My park day is ruined."

Her grandfather smiled. "A rainy day can still be an adventure."

Lily wasn't sure about that, but she followed him to the garage.

Grandpa handed her a flashlight and a small notebook.

"We're going on a treasure hunt," he said.

"A treasure hunt?" Lily asked.

"That's right. Rainy days help us find things we usually miss."

They put on their rain boots and walked into the backyard.

Soon Lily spotted a shiny snail sliding across a leaf. She drew a picture of it in her notebook.

A little later, she found a puddle filled with floating yellow leaves.

Then she noticed a robin splashing in the rain.

"I've never seen that before!" she said.

By the time they returned home, Lily's notebook was full of drawings and notes.

Grandpa looked through the pages.

"You found lots of treasures today," he said.

Lily nodded. "Not gold or jewels, but things I never noticed before."

That evening, the rain stopped, and a rainbow stretched across the sky.

Lily smiled.

The park would still be there tomorrow.

But today's rainy-day adventure was something she would always remember.
