Describe how Ha's mother felt about leaving her native country.

The reason Ha's mother was probably conflicted is because she felt she had to pick one son over the other. According to the text, two of her sons wanted to stay and one son wanted to leave. 

Something that stood out to me while reading the text was that Ha's mother did not even give Ha an opportunity to speak or give an opinion at the family meeting. That text detail strengthened my belief that women were probably overlooked in society or had limited rights in Vietnam at that time.
