Why is it important to have a counterclaim in argumentative writing?
There is always a different way of looking at situations.
The counterclaim should always be acknowledged; it makes you seem more knowledgeable (not ignorant of the facts) and trustworthy (not trying to hide anything)
What is a way in which argumentative writing differs from persuasive writing?
Main difference is the goal.
Although very similar in many aspects, the goal of argumentative writing is not to persuade or convince the reader that you are right or to take on your position.
But rather, to inform the reader of your position on a topic and present the evidence the led you to it.
