However, we could still offer to increase the theft limit for jewelry up to $5,000 by adding the increased limit of jewelry, watches, and furs endorsement.
Guideline: Coverage C Personal Property. Increase limit of Jewlery, Watches, and Furs

The state of Connecticut does not have a maximum limit for collectibles/collections but is still covered at ACV.

A customer selects $20,000 in contents coverage, but we discover the customer has a couch worth $5,000 and 1 computer worth $4,000. Explain what the possible consequences are if HomeShield-R is not selected?
Answer: The consequence is that the customer will not be covered properly. If HomeShield-R is not selected the most we would pay for the couch and the computer would be $2,000 each because we have a rule that we will only pay a maximum of 10% of the content amount per item. We could increase the contents amount to $50,000 so the 10% would cover the couch at $5,000 and the computer for $4,000. However, the computer also has a special limit for theft of $2,500 which means the customer would not be fully protected if the computer were stolen. By adding HomeShield-R we eliminate the 10% per item rule and increase the computer theft limit to $5,000, its covered on an open peril, and we do not have to increase the contents amount to achieve this, plus the customer gets all the other benefits that HomeShield-R provides.
Guideline: Personal Property Coverage, HomeShield-R
If a customer and their family have $4,000 total in jewelry but no singular piece of jewelry is worth more than $250, is there any coverage you would offer them to make sure we cover all their jewelry properly? Explain your conclusion?
Answer: We should offer the Increased Limit of Jewelry, Watches, and Furs endorsement. This endorsement would allow us to increase the special limit of jewelry for theft from $1,000 to up to $5,000. If we do not offer this coverage, we would not be covering the customer properly if all the jewelry were stolen. Also, since there is no single piece that is higher value scheduling the jewelry would not be needed but could still be offered.
Guideline: Increased Limit of Jewelry, Watches, and Furs
