All things are made of this.
Matter
100
To pull toward each other
Attract
100
3 primary particles of the atoms and their charge
What are Electrons- negative, Protons- Positive and Neutron- Neutral
100
If you rub 2 things, some of the _________ from the atoms in one object can jump to the atoms in the other objects.
electrons
200
The part of an atom with a negative charge.
Electron
200
3 types of matter.
Solid, Liquid and Gas
200
To push away from each other.

You walk across a carpet in your socks and touch the doorknob. A spark flies between your hand and the doorknob.  This must have happened to your body as you walked across the carpet.
The friction between your socks and the carpet caused the electrons to move to your body from the rug giving you a negative static charge.  When touching the doorknob the build up of extra electrons attracted protons in the door to create a spark.
300
The part of an atom with a neutral charge.
Neutron
300
Has size and shape and the molecules are tightly packed together with little movement.
Solid
300
Electric charges at rest, that is produced by rubbing 2 objects together; the charges can build up on a material and discharge, or jump from one material to another but do NOT flow steadily
Static Electricity
300
Has 6 Protons, Neutrons and Electrons in it.
Carbon
300
Objects that lose electrons end up with this charge.
Positive
400
The building blocks of matter.
Atoms
400
Takes the shape of its container and it can flow, be poured and spilled.
Liquid
400
The center of an atom
What is the nucleus
400
Negative and positive charges will_______.
Attract
400
Objects that gain electrons end up with this charge.
What is a negative charge
500
They are found in the nucleus.
Protons and Neutrons
500
Has no shape or size and the molecules are spread far apart and move quickly.
Gas
500
Jumping of electric charges between 2 objects
What is discharge
500
Describe one of the static electricity experiments we did or saw in class and explain how static was created

If you run a comb with wool, the comb gains electrons from the wool. When you put the comb near pieces of paper this happens.
The paper clings to the comb.
