Siblings of children with ADHD are at a higher risk of displaying behavioral and emotional disorders than siblings of children without ADHD. This is a result of siblings reporting feeling victimized by the physical and verbal abuse, being placed in a caretaker role, the manipulation by his or her sibling, and their sibling(s) inability to regulate and or accept responsibility for their hyperactive, impulsive, and inattentive actions.
