What is 3rd person?
When the author uses words to paint a picture in your mind by describing how things look, sound, smell, taste, or feel.
Imagery
Giving human qualities to things that aren’t human—"The wind whispered through the trees."
Personification
If the narrator is a character in the story.
1st Person
As the full moon rose over the old, haunted house on the hill, the wind howled through the twisted branches of the gnarled trees.
connotation
The words that 2 or more characters say to each other in the story.
Dialogue
Author's appeal to at least some of these to create imagery.
