Raising your hand to ask, taking the bathroom pass with you. Not during instruction.
Follow directions quickly, raise your hand for permission to speak, raise your hand for permission to leave your seat, make smart choices, make our dear team stronger, keep your eyes on the target.

Where do we turn in finished work?
the turn-in basket. Be sure its facing the right way & is in a neat pile.
What are expectations to earn Fun Friday? Where can you find the work from the week?
On Friday, Ms. Pinnell will check your work from the week, so don't turn anything in that is listed on the board! You are responsible for keeping it safe in your binder all week. If you have completed all of the work on the board, you can participate in Fun Friday! If not, you will complete any missing work during that time.
What do we do when there is a fire drill?
stand-up quietly, line up quietly, hands to self, level 0 in the line the ENTIRE time.
When do you use a level 0 voice?
during independent work, during a test or quiz, when the teacher is talking, in the hallway, when a classmate is sharing.
What is a teacher only area in the classroom?
teacher desk, supply cabinet
When do you use a level 1 voice level?
When asking questions during peer work, when talking with table partners
What should you do when you enter the classroom?
Read the board for directions, find your assigned seat

Bring it to class, treat it with respect, always have it charged, on the website you should be on.

What are carpet expectations? How should we transition to the carpet & how should we act when we are on the carpet learning?
Quickly & quietly come down to carpet, being sure to push in your chair. Hands free of anything distracting. Shoulders facing board. Eyes on target. Permission to speak.
What is one group work procedure?
get along, respect others, on-task behavior, use quiet voices, participate, stay in your group
How do we ask a question in class?
raise hand quietly. 3 before me.
What is an end of class routine? (Think: transitioning to other class, lunch, or specials.)
put supplies away, clean up table and floor, push chairs in, wait for Ms. Pinnell to prompt you to line up. Quiet, calm, quick.

What do we do if another adult enters the classroom.
Remain seated & working. You can do a silent finger wave, but then back to work!
What are the 9 rules for working with a partner?
Work with the partner assigned to you, be ready, decide roles, listen and be respectful, show your thinking, check in, be kind and helpful, if you get stuck ..., finish together :)
What are some options when you finish work early?
quietly read, complete a folder challenge.
What are calm down corner expectations?
Ask using a C with your hand, set 5 minute timer, level 0, put everything away and rejoin the class quietly.
What does it mean to productively struggle?
Productive struggle means working on a hard problem that's a little too tough to do right away. You try different ideas, keep going even when it's difficult, and learn from mistakes. It helps you understand things better, get stronger at solving problems, and not give up when things are tricky.
