At least 10 minutes, and it is important because practicing the skills alone builds my skills and confidence as an independent learner.

Name 3 expectations around classroom conversations.
1. Speak when it is your turn (ie don't interrupt)
2. Make sure everyone has time to share.
3. Silent during independent work time.
4. Conversations should be about math
5. Speak at a high enough volume that people at your table can hear you, but low enough that people across the room cannot hear you.
What should you do when you finish your mastery check?
A quiet sponge activity, or get started on homework.

Come in for a study hall review session, go over mistakes and show increased mastery to raise your grade to a 50.

How is homework graded?
It is a completion grade. You get one grade a week for homework, and each missing assignment is 10 points off the grade. If you are absent you have until the test to turn that assignment in.
What should you do if you are absent for a test or quiz?
Make it up during a study hall. But try not to be absent during a test or quiz!

Pull out your homework, and get started on your Do Now

How do we check homework?
We will spend 5 minutes at the beginning of class checking homework with markers. I will roam around checking for completion while you fix your work and ask questions based on the answers posted on the board.
How far ahead will I announce quizzes and tests?
At least a week in advance
What happens if you are caught cheating?
You will automatically get a zero on the assignment. Repeated violations could result in an honor code violation.
Write front and back, starting with a new page (dated and labelled) each day.
You should be writing everything I write (at least for now)
