What is Envision and does it help us see any better?
Envision is the math program we use! We focus on one topic at a time and show many different ways we can solve a problem from the topic! It does not help us see any better unfortunately.

What is a "Take Home Reading Folder"?
A folder that will go home soon with your child's current reading level! Practice reading with them and you are allowed to read to them!
What are centers?
I do centers for both ELA and Math! Students will work in small groups to practice and reinforce any skills we are working on. I have fun games on their chromebooks that help reinforce these skills! Also, this is the time I meet with your child to work with them.
Why is my child filling a bucket?
We are living off the grid! Just kidding! This is another classroom management technique I use to help students understand how being respectful, responsible, and safe makes you and others feel good!
What college/university did we go to?
EASY.... Centenary, but what year did I graduate and when will Miss Kelson graduate?
2016 and 2023/2024!
What on Earth is Fundations and is it fun?
It is our phonics program that we do! I will send updates about each unit that explains what we will be learning about! We make it fun to answer the last part!
How often do we use chromebooks?
We use chromebooks just about every day (not yet though) for about an hour each day. This is because some of my centers are through websites that help reinforce any skills we are practicing! This is a rough estimate because not every center has them use a chromebook!
What are my classroom rules?
Be Safe, Be Respectful and Responsible, and be a professional by giving your best effort! We go over this constantly to help us build a strong community inside and outside our school!
What sport did I play in college?
Soccer! Bonus Points! What position did I play?
Do I give homework?
Nope! The taking home reading folder is the main thing to focus on! Sometimes students do come back with extra work that is unfinished, but you do not need to do it! It is just extra practice!
Star of the Week is when your child is our star for a whole week! Your child will be able to do many different things throughout the week! I will let you know when your child is the star!
Does Miss Kelson have any sibilings?
Yes!
After doing a sight word assessment, I will email you the results and explain how we practice sight words. I do send sight words home for students to practice, but it only takes 5 minutes!
What is Mr. Brennen's favorite thing in the morning?
Children laughing.... Just kidding! Coffee! After that, your children laughing and having fun is my favorite thing!
