Calendar Stuff
This is the first required performance for all band students in October.
What is the Dinner Theater Performance?
This happens after you receive a warning and a check by your name in one class, or just a warning 3 times over 5 classes.
What is Step 1?
This is only worth 10% of your overall band grade, but it's enough to knock your grade down by a letter if you don't turn in any of it.
What is homework/classwork?
Noble band polo, khaki pants, and solid color shoes.
What is the band uniform (concert attire)?
All band members must have a signed permission slip and a ___________ _______ __________ on file with the band director to go on any trips with the band.
What is a student info sheet?
This event happens after the spring concert, and is optional for anyone interested.
What is Solo Ensemble Festival?
If you get to this point, you are sent to the office with a conduct referral.
What is Step 4?
Each of these is worth 25% of your overall band grade.
What are tests and concert attendance?
This is 20-30 minutes before the start of the performance. It means what time you are to report to be ready for the concert to start on time.
What is call time?
Improper behavior, poor grades, or an unexcused absence from a performance.
What are reasons the band director may not allow you to go on a field trip?
These are the best times to schedule doctor or orthodontist appointments.
What is after a performance, or over a longer break from school?
You can earn these for things like answering a question correctly when called on, or earning a 90 or higher on a playing test in class.
What are "good time tickets"?
This is pretty easy, but is worth the most toward your grade (40%)! All you have to do is show up to class with all your materials, and PARTICIPATE!
What is Class Participation?
If you miss a concert, this person should contact Mrs. Knauf regarding the reason why ASAP.
Who is the parent?
If the parent contacts the band director directly, the school may be able to help with this.
What are financial hardships?
October 13, December 10, March 4 and May 20.
What are the dates for all work due each quarter?
The consequence for this is parent contact and an after school detention.
What is Step 3?
These are ways to make your class participation WORTHWHILE. (You only need to name one).
What is:
a. Having proper equipment for class?
b. Having a cooperative, positive attitude in class?
c. Following classroom rules/regulations?
d. Being on time, and setting up quickly and quietly?
Items that the performers should not have during a performance. Name one.
What are gum, candy, food, drinks, and cell phones?
This is never required, but always helpful for maintaining the needs of the band program or helping offset some costs due to being in band.
What is fundraising?
This is our final concert of the school year, held May 12, 2022.
What is the spring concert?
This is your consequence for earning a second step on the 4-step plan.
What is a lunch detention?
If you can't play in class because you didn't bring your instrument, you have to complete one of these.
What is a "Rehearsal Detective"?
Performances are graded on these three things.
