How many performances does the band have each quarter?

How many times each week should students practice?
At least three times a week for 20–30 minutes.
Every student needs what size binder?
A 1-inch binder.
Where does S.O.A.R. appear in the handbook?
The front cover/title page.
What is the only excused reason for missing band class?
DEATH.... just kidding.
Being absent from school.
What color shirt should students wear for concerts?
A white top (not a T-shirt).
How many playing tests must students pass each quarter?
Three.
What should you do if your instrument needs repairs?
Request a rental from the music store and send a note to Mr. Green.
Who is responsible for getting students to performances?
Parents/guardians.
If you miss class because of band, whose responsibility is it to make up the work?
The student.
How much does inappropriate concert dress lower your concert grade?
10%.
What are three things that make up your band grade?
Concerts/reflections, playing tests/scales, and 6 P's.
Percussionists should have their drumsticks where?
At school.
During a concert, when should the audience applaud?
At the end of each piece unless directed otherwise.
If you know you'll miss a concert, how far in advance should you notify Mr. Green?
Two weeks before the concert.
What hairstyle is required for long hair during the Blossom Days Parade?
Pulled back into a ponytail.
What are two things a good practice area should have?
A quiet, well-lit space with a chair and music stand.
Reed players should have how many quality reeds in their case?
Three.
Name one reason a student may be allowed to switch instruments.
The band needs balance, they've mastered their primary instrument (passed off on book 2), or other approved circumstances.
What are the 3 promises students agree to by signing the handbook?
Be responsible for instrument/book/supplies/behavior

What is Solo & Ensemble, and why is it important?
A judged performance opportunity that helps improve playing ability and challenges students.
When is Mr. Green available for extra help?
From 3:25–3:55 (scheduled in advance).
