The Trauma team is a team made that sees patients for some of the most complicated injuries/issues in our medical team. These four doctors can see patients for Joint Replacements and Fracture care for both new and old Fractures.
Who are Drs. Jordan, Bar-Eli, Fongue, Ciminero?
In Soarian, there is a Self-Pay option available to patients who go to a Baptist ED or OCED and are referred to our Orthopedic group when they are TRUE self-pay or non-par with us. We can allocate it the BHMG 1x ED F/Up and it costs between this amount of money.

The difference between Established New Injury and New Established Patient depends on the years since the patient last saw us. Established new injury is under _ years while New Established Patient is over _ years.
What is 3 years?
These calls arise when a nurse/medical provider from the Baptist ER call with questions for the On-Call orthopedic doctor. During these calls, we must verify who the on-call ED provider is and transfer to their office's backline. If the transfer fails or takes too long, then you advise your leads chat to have them assist.

These two teams are the only ones with surgeons who can perform Total Shoulder Replacements and Reverse Total Shoulder Replacements.
What are Sports Medicine and Trauma?
Bone Health Clinic hosted by ARNPs April Tschumy and Yasmine Canela are focused on treating patients who have either had prior history of sustained fractures or who suffer from one of these conditions.
What is Osteopenia and/or Osteoporosis?
If a patient has a surgery with us and no longer has insurance afterwards, this policy guarantees that the patient is covered for the next 90 days post surgery.

What is Established Patient?
Dr. Roger Saldana is a go-to resource and referral for younger patients that are referred to us. He works at Nichlaus Hospital treating these kind of patients.
What are pediatric patients?
Claudia Martinez is in charge of scheduling these diagnostic examinations that are performed by Dr. Mena. We do not schedule or cancel these appointments; we send messages through Powerchart to Claudia to schedule/cancel these tests.
What are EMG/NCV aka Nerve Conduction Studies?

We have PAs that are tied to specific providers. But these PAs and ARNPs are the floats for each team: Sports Med, Foot/Ankle, Trauma, Total Joints, and Hand.

There are certain Medicare plans that we are mostly not-in-network. But there are few exceptions we take with these plans such as Aetna, Cigna, and even United.

What is an international insurance policy and having a residence outside the US for more than 6 months?
There is a type of injury to the hip that we can refer to PCSM for conservative care. But if the patient with this issue is interested in surgical consultation we have to refer them to Drs. Hommen or Ross.
