What is anatomy?
The body is erect, palms, arms, and hands face forward
What is anatomical position?
Relative to the periphery or away from the center.
What is peripheral?

Part of the body between the diaphragm and the 7th cervical vertebra
What is the thorax?
The study of the function of an organism.
What is physiology?
Divides the body into right and left.
What is the sagittal section?
On or near the surface
What is superficial?
Stretch
What is extension?
Belly
What is the abdomen?
Individual parts of the body to functional systems.
What is descriptive anatomy?
Front portion
What is anterior?
Away from the midline
What is distal?

What is inversion?
Portion of the body made up of the arm, forearm, wrist and hand
What is the upper extremity?
The study of diseases of the nervous system
What is neurology?
Pertaining to the belly or anterior surface.
Toward the root or attachment point of the structure
What is proximal?

Portion of the body made up of up of the thigh, leg, ankle, and foot
What is the lower extremity?
Anatomy as related to the systems of the body (SLPs are most interested in)
What is descriptive anatomy?
Pertaining to the back of the body

Body in horizontal position with face up
