Shielding

Pass
On the Pitch, the method of trying to individually or collectively taking the ball away from the other team.
Pressing
A position on the Pitch that has an area of 72 by 36 where you have the special ability to use your hands to prevent scoring.
Goalie
A restart from the goal area by the defense as the attacking team was the last to touch the ball as it passed the goal line.
Goal Kick
When a player scores 3 or more goals in one game.
Hat Trick
A type of pass that is played to a teammates feet, and then quickly back to that player that has progressed three feet.
Wall Pass
On the Pitch, when the ball is controlled solely by one team.
Possession
The people on either sideline that are there to watch, support, and cheer you on during the game.
Spectators
A kick awarded for a minor foul, must have two touches to score a goal.

Friendly
A pass that is made parallel to the out of bounce line.
Line Pass
On the Pitch, the act of players switching positions with teammates while staying in the teams formatino.
Rotating
Striker
A kick awarded for a major foul outside the penalty area and can be scored directly by one kick.
Direct Kick
When an attacking player receives the ball in a position where he/she is already in front of the last defender.
Off Sides
A pass that is made into the space between two defending players.
Split Pass
On the Pitch, the strategy to quickly attack in a certain method to quickly break down the other team and score.
Counter Attack
Player(s) who range from the lower third to the middle of the Pitch who are responsible for protecting the goal by moving, rotating, passing, and clearing.
Defense
A restart by the attacking team on either line corner of the field because the defending team was the last to touch the ball as it passed the goal line.
Corner Kick
Time added to the end of the game due to delays within the game that include injuries, bookings, celebrations.
Stoppage Time
A pass that is made from the wings to the penalty area.
Cross
A synonym for counter pressing.
Gegenpressing.
Player(s) who range from the middle third to the attacking third of the Pitch and are charged with pressing and simultaneously attacking to prevent and score goals.
Midfielders
A kick that is awarded to the player for being fouled in the penalty area.
