What actions shall be taken when seeing a person being electrocuted?
1) Ensure your own safety - use dry gloves, rubber boots, if possible turn off the power source. When approaching the injured person on the ground, take small steps which shall not be more than 10 cm. 2) Throw down the wire from the injured person using dry non-conductive object (stick, plastic) or cut the wire with an axe with a wooden handle. 3) Pull the injured person by the collar at least 10 meters away from the scene, should the IP's clothes be dry. If clothes are damp or wet, wrap your hand with dry cotton cloth and pull the IP. 4) Call 5555 or radio channel 2, or call an ambulance. 5) If you have skills and completed appropriate training, provide first aid to the IP.
