Stray cats should receive:
- Felocell (next treatment: 3 weeks)
- Revolution (if ear mites, repeat Revolution after 2 weeks - otherwise next treatment, Strongid in 2 weeks)
- Cestex (if suspect eating rodents) 1 dose at intake
Someone is making a donation in memory of a person that passed away. Aside from the SB receipt, what can we do?
- give in memory card to donor/family
- send card to funeral home if no family address known

What is the minimum number of days an animal must have pain control after surgery?
All shelter dogs, cats, and rabbits being spayed or neutered (or undergoing any other potentially painful surgical procedure including dental extractions) must receive pain medication for at least 3 additional days after the day of surgery.
You do intake on a cat that appears elderly and ill. Poor coat, underweight, bad teeth, the whole shebang.
What are some common illnesses that could cause a cat to look this way?
- kidney failure
- hyperthyroidism
- diabetes

- Adorn PPE, bag the animal, tag it with ID# and date died, date frozen. Put in freezer
- Contact immediate supervisor
- Report to Animal Health within 24 hours (using Unassisted Death SOP)
Vaccine Storage: what temperature should vaccines be stored at?
Bonus: who do you contact if the vaccines have been incorrectly stored
Store at 2-7 degrees C. If accidentally exposed to periods of warmer or colder temperatures, please contact the Animal Health Team at ah@spca.bc.ca for further direction
