Identifies gaps in student knowledge, optimizes time, encourage students to activate passive knowledge etc ...
One method offers the least amount of teacher prep BUT requires the most teacher involvement. How?
Situational P.P.P - it is predictable, easy to deliver, follows a kind of lock-step approach so not much prep BUT the teacher must teach and explain because the students are not given anything to do...other than listen.

Student-centred, language has been dealt with, can focus of collaborative tasks/ project work, low teacher airtime...

Lower level classes - IF you clarify and elicit aggressively through concept checking, visual aids, timelines, discrimination checks ....
It is NEVER a good method for high levels - unless you are a grammar guru. Are you ready to explain when ellipis is used in a mixed conditional sentence at moments notice?

Texts too challenging, contexually foreign, lexis is new - becomes an unprepared skills lesson. Ss struggle to isolate T.L

There is no best method - you need to take into account your students and choose the best fit for your aim for the lesson.
