What is tone?
A literary device used to give an indication or hint of what is to come later in the story.
What is foreshadowing?
A figure of speech that combines contradictory words with opposite meaning.
The lines which are spoken by or between the characters in a story. This reveals information about the characters and it moves the plot forward.

One of the story's characters is narrating the literary work. He or she uses the pronouns "I," "me," "we," and "us" to tell the story.

A literary technique in which an author gives non-human things (animals or objects) literal human traits and makes them capable of human behavior.
What is anthropomorphism?
A style of narration where the perspective of a single character is given. It uses pronouns like "he" and "she."
What is third person limited point of view?
The facts of the narrative are reported by a seemingly neutral observer or recorder. No side is taken. The narrator is an unbiased observer and reports without prejudice or thoughts.
