If they don't know they made a mistake, raise your hand and use a positive tone to kindly correct them.
Why is it important to walk and not run in music class
We don't want to bump into others or break anything.
Imagine your group is trying to decide on which instrument they want to play. One person wants the group to play drums, and the other wants them to play rhythm sticks. What is the cooperative way to decide?
Rock paper scissors or vote
What is stop playing or doing what you are doing and listen for instructions.
This instrument will be played by 5th graders.

Offer to help them.
How should you move around xylophones and other large instruments?
Move slowly and walk around. Never jump over, sit, or climb on the instruments.

This instrument is often played with two hands, but never a mallet. It has a head and rim.

If you see someone struggling to understand what we are doing in class, what's a kind way to offer help.
Ask if they need help or offer to show them how.
Where do you line up at the end of class? Describe what the line should look like.
Line up at the door in number order at a level 0.
If you see someone doing something they are not supposed to do, what is the responsible thing to do?
Kindly remind them of the expectation and lead by example. If it is something serious, tell a teacher.
What should you do with your instrument when Mrs. Hewitt is talking?
Keep it in rest position or put it down.
This is what will happen if you play before I say.
Mrs. Hewitt will take the instrument away.
What should you do if we are watching a video of a music performance or if we are watching a live performance?
Sit quietly and listen.
What should you say if you accidentally bump into someone?
Say, "excuse me or I'm sorry."
What does it mean to be responsible for your learning?
Try your best, listen, and participate.
