Asking a camper to do a task in order to redirect from the problematic behavior.
Ex-A kid who is getting frustrated with a game, have them help you with keeping score instead of participating for a bit.

Staff sets expectations, clear rules, and consequences within the first day and continue to follow them throughout the week.

Talk to the child at a level they will understand.
Speaking to them with complex and complicated language will make it difficult for them to stop their behavior.

A tactic that can be used when you know an inappropriate behavior will stop if a camper is not getting attention from it.
Ex-If a camper saying "What the sigma" will annoy their counselor, ignore them saying it and they will likely stop.

Find alternate activities for children to engage them. A lot of bad behavior comes from disengagement.
