What is the significance of our symbol?

 It symbolizes the legacy, strength and eternal brotherhood of the organization. The drops of blood on the stone represent the lifelong relationships that develop as part of our commitment to this organization.

Beta Omega Chi’s colors of Navy Blue and Gold signify the stability, trust, and confidence required for a lifelong brotherhood , while also representing the success and triumph necessary to overcome unique challenges and achieve greater heights.

What is the significance of our letters

Beta (Test) serves as a reminder that we want to establish an alt model of fraternity that addresses the issues we see as most salient and pertinent 

Omega symbolizes the sustainability and permanence of the org; represents independence & the ability to achieve great things

Chi represents the first and last three founding members of the organization. We won't succeed w/ just numbers, but because our purpose and beliefs are so important we have no choice but to be impactful

What is the second tenet?

To support Brothers in every educational, philanthropic, physical and overall beneficial enterprise, throughout the balance of their days.

From the Shield, Coat of Arms, Supports, and Mantle, What is the significance of Beta Omega Chi's Crest

Shield: Oval, inspired by traditional African shields.

Coat of Arms:

  • Crest displays the founding date.

  • Joined hands at the top represent service and brotherhood (Tenet 1, Tenet 3, and Tenet 4).

  • Lion of Judah in the center of the Omega, representing bravery and courage.

  • Scroll at the base represents education (Tenet 2 and Tenet 5).

Supports:

  • Pillars of Confidence and Courage on either side (Tenet 6).

  • Wrapped in ivy to represent our status as the first and only Black Greek organization founded in the Ivy League.

  • White Jasmine blooming on the ivy (Flower).

  • Drops of red on the ivy to represent the Bloodstone (Symbol).
