Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were told to bow to a golden statue of the King of Babylon. After refusing to do so, the king threw them into a fiery furnace. Despite killing the two guards nearest it, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego emerged unharmed.
Parable that Jesus told to a Jewish man about a man that was beaten by robbers and left on the side of the road. A priest passes by and doesn't help, then a Levite passes by that doesn't help, but a Samaritan helps him recover then gives him money to stay in an inn.
