If what we have is given by someone else, how can we boast

Verse 6 "... a little yeast works through the whole batch of dough". Here Paul warned about bad influence. Bad influence could be bad things our friends do or say. Jews were circumcised; but should they become uncircumcised (abandon the Jewish Law) after they became Christians? Gentiles were uncircumcised; but should they become circumcised (follow the Jewish Law) after they became Christians? Those were the questions asked in the first century Christian community. Paul answered "no" to both questions. Memorize 1 Corinthians 7:19.
1 Corinthians 7:19:Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing. Keeping God’s commands is what counts.

There were divisions among the Corinthian church. We read earlier that some people said, "I follow Paul." Some others said, "I follow Apollos". But a Christian should not follow either one of them. We all should follow Christ. Here Paul asked them a few questions to help them understand why they should not follow Paul but only Christ. Which one question do you think is the most powerful?
Paul was not crucified for us. We are not baptized into the name of Paul.
400
Paul again addressed the jealousy and quarreling among the church. Apollos was a church leader. Obviously some in the Corinth church were arguing whether they should follow Paul or Apollos. But people should not think like that. All in the church are God's servants. We should all follow God. Someone plants the seed, someone waters it, but who makes it grow?
God

As servants of Christ, the apostles had to endure hardship and difficulties. Paul said, "To this very hour we go __________________________, we are in rags, we are ___________________, we are homeless. We work hard with our own hands. From the beginning, Christians have always kept in mind the return of Christ. In verse 29, Paul said, "What I mean, brothers, is that the time is short." That affects how Christians live. Greek philosophy emphasized seeking wisdom. But their wisdom is not the true wisdom. To their wisdom it was foolish to believe Christ was crucified. But they were wrong. Christ crucified was the wisdom of God. What a contrast! Memorize 1 Corinthians 1:25. Paul pointed out that most Christians were not wise by human standard; were not influential in the world; were not born as nobles. But God chose the weak, the lowly and the despised people as his followers. Why did God choose the weak, the lowly and the despised? He did that so that no one may _____________ before him.
1 Corinthians 1:25: For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength. / boast

Bible students pay attention to how a word is used in the Scripture. In verse 16, the word "you" is plural, meaning all believers; the word "temple" is singular, meaning the church. So Paul was saying in verse 16, “Don’t you know that all of you are God’s church and God’s Spirit lives in the church?” Memorize 1 Corinthians 3:16. People often think they are wise and smart. They come up with many ideas and plans. But often they are not really as smart as they think. Here Paul stated why – “For the wisdom of this world is _____________ in God’s sight.”
1 Corinthians 3:16: Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you? / foolishness

Paul introduced and taught the gospel to many in the Corinth church. Therefore Paul called them "my dear children". Paul urged them to "imitate" him. What does "imitate" mean? Christian life is not about empty talks. It is about living a life that shows the power of the Holy Spirit. Memorize 1 Corinthians 4:20
Imitate: follow example of somebody or something; use somebody or something as a model. 1 Corinthians 4:20: For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.

If we think a brother did us wrong, instead of getting involved in all the disputes with fellow Christians, we should be willing to suffer wrong. According to Paul, a good attitude should be “Why not rather be _________? Why not rather be __________?” Earlier in 3:16, we learned that the word "you" there refer to all believers. But here in version 19 the word “you” should be understood as directed to each individual reader. Verse 19 is saying that our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. We should treat our body as sacred. It is not just ours; it belongs to God too. Memorize 1 Corinthians 6:19 A (the first part).
wronged / cheated 1 Corinthians 6:19 A: Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?

Paul recommended being single and unmarried. That is because, "An unmarried man is concerned about ___________________’s affairs – how he can please ___________________."
