What is...

How the messiah, arrived on earth born to a virgin and carpenter(1), in a manger(2), the fact that the first witnesses were nearby shepherds who had been tending their flock(3).

They had nothing, unlike the wise men who brought gold, frankincense and myrrh. This is not how people expected the promised savior to arrive. When someone whispers something to us, we lean in and listen closely. This is precisely why God chose to announce Jesus in a quiet way– so that we would be listening closely when He Himself announces to the world that Christ is His Son (4).
