Joseph
Joseph was the son of Jacob and one of twelve brothers. Jacob loved Joseph very much and gave him a coat of many colors, which made his brothers jealous.
Joseph’s brothers took him, threw him into a pit, and sold him as a slave. They told their father Joseph was gone forever.
Joseph was taken to Egypt and worked for a man named Potiphar. Even when Joseph did the right thing, he was falsely accused and sent to prison.
In prison, God helped Joseph interpret dreams. Later, Pharaoh heard about Joseph and asked him to explain two dreamsabout a coming famine.
Because Joseph trusted God, Pharaoh made him second in command of Egypt. Joseph stored food so many people would not starve.
When Joseph’s brothers came to Egypt for food, Joseph forgave them and said God used what they meant for evil to bring good.
