What are the reactants and the products in photosynthesis?
Carbon dioxide, water, glucose, oxygen
what are the reactants and products of cellular respiration?
glucose, oxygen, carbon dioxide, water and energy
What are enzymes made of?
What do all reactions need?
Proteins but not always
All reactions need energy!
where does Photosytheis happen and what is the structure?
It happens in the chloroplast in a plants cell and the structure of the grana which is the pancake-like stacks and the storma which is what fills between the grana.
Where does cellular respiration happen and what is the structure of it.?
It happens in the mitochondria of a plants cell and its structure is the inner membrane and the matrix which fills between the membrane.
what is the difference between exothermic and endothermic?
Exothermic releases energy in the form of heat or light while Endothermic absorbs energy in the form of heat or light.
What effects the rate of photosynthesis?
Light intensity(Excites e- which can make the process happen faster), amount of CO2(Too much or too less), and temperature( Too hot or too cold for the process to happen)
Which process will glycolysis take when O2 is unavailable which will it take when it is available? Where will it got from their?
O2 available: Aerobic respiration
O2 unavailable: Anaerobic Respiration
It moves onto ETC after this step
What are ways the rate of the chemial reaction can change?
Temperature, PH, Substrate concentration, catalyst, competitive inhibitor.
what are the stages of photosynthesis and describe each one?
Light dependent reaction which captures energy from the sun and stores in energy carrying molecules(ATP and NADPH), light independent reaction which uses energy from the energy carrying molecules to make glucose this can also be know as the Calvin cycle.
What are the different stages of cellular respiration and describe each one?
Glycolysis which that splits the glucose in half to make carbon molecules called pyruvate. Next is the Krebs cycle that takes place if o2 is available which if it is it will make NADH and FADH2 carriers to make onto ETC but if oxygen is not present it will either go through alcohol(Co2 and 2 ATP) or lactic acid fermentation(2 ATP which from the private form something different. Lastly is ETC which through a series of reactions makes the most amount of ATP, 34 ATP.
What does a denatured enzymes look like? And what happens?
A denatured enzyme is when a enzyme loses its shape due to loss of biological activity, this can be caused by environmental changes such as temperature and Ion strength. Only sometimes it can be retired to its Original shape.
What is the chemical equation for photosytheis?
6CO2 + 6H20 makes C6H12O6 +602
what is the chemical equation for cellular respiration?
C6H12O6+6O2 makes 6CO2 +6H2O+ ATP
What happens when an enzyme forms and breaks bonds?
When it breaks bond the Substrate goes through the chemical reactions produces into two but when forming bonds happen the Substrate before it goes back into another chemical reaction it forms back together creating a whole product.
