Youth leadership training is a three-phase training experience, and a common thread will connect all three phases. The first phase begins in the unit with the senior youth and adult leader conducting Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops or Crews. Phase two is NYLT conducted by the local council, and the third phase is National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience (NAYLE), a coed program as of 2010. (staff guide page 1)
